Spare Cables (sparecables.com) provides protocol matching, pinout explanations, and hardware accessory guides based on published engineering standards from the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), VESA, and the HDMI Forum. Actual charging speeds, data throughput, and display resolutions depend on the exact firmware, port capabilities, and power negotiation profiles of your connected devices. Verify compatibility with your device manufacturer before connecting high-wattage power supplies or running long-distance video runs.
1. Informational & Educational Purpose Only
The content, matchers, and matrix tables on Spare Cables are for general informational and educational guidance. While our protocol rules strictly reference USB Power Delivery (USB PD 3.0 / 3.1 EPR), DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB4, and HDMI Fixed Rate Link (FRL) specifications, real-world hardware implementations frequently depart from standard guidelines (such as proprietary charging handshakes or non-standard port pinouts). We do not warrant that any recommended cable will fulfill every user requirement in every edge case.
2. Electrical Safety & Hardware Protection
Connecting electrical devices, especially at Extended Power Range (EPR) voltages up to 48V (240W), carries inherent electrical risks:
- Always use certified cables equipped with compliant E-Marker chips when delivering current exceeding 3A (60W).
- Never force physical connectors into misaligned or incompatible ports.
- Avoid extreme tight-radius cable bends, especially with fiber-optic Active Optical Cables (AOC), which can fracture internal glass strands.
- Spare Cables accepts zero liability for damaged charging ports, short circuits, melted connectors, blown fuses, or equipment failure.
3. FTC & Amazon Associates Disclosure
